Musings Pt I

Olly Hat Well, (:-D)
It all begins and ends within a time span of ten or so seconds this first rather chuckle-worthy anecdote. I was at work, earning money (as you do...sometimes) this morning, and they were playing all the cute, annoying and sometimes downright catchy kids songs over the PA system. In the Toys R Us jingle, I heard this...
"We've got dolls and cars and video games
It'll really split your lip!"
I stopped. I thought. I laughed. When the song came on next, I listened again, and when it got to that phrase, it sounded like that, but it was actually a bunch of other, unintelligble words. But from now on, I sing to myself inside my head "...it'll really split your lip!"

And that's the end of that story. Oh, and for Sara, I'd like to say that in my opinion, "Comatose" is pretty much a real contemporary worship album with a heavy edge. Seriously, for my prime example, go find the lyrics to the namesake track, "Comatose".

Killing Some Time Between Updates...

This one here I wrote just before Christmas '04 when my great-grandmother passed away. Its about how even though she died, and despite me not knowing her much at all, I felt as if I had lost a family member. She was like, 95 and had dementia and stuff, so we weren't close at all really, but I still loved her. She was actually best mates/penpals with the prince-in-exile of Burma I think. Its about how even though she's died, life goes on and we wont forget her.

Farewell, Nanna

A flower blooms, red and bright
It’s scent among the grasses
Elsewhere a person loses the fight
And into eternity passes.
The flower grows, the roots sink deep
Its beauty is admired
The person, now is restful sleep
Shall not once more be tired.
The person, with her closed eyes
She shall be sorely missed
The flower reflected in the skies
Shall remind us of her kiss.
